Meet the Brocks! 

Some families you photograph because they found you. And some you photograph because they are your people and you just refuse to let this season go undocumented.

The Brocks are the second kind.

I have known this family for years -- through so many different seasons -- and I am still not over how fast their kids are growing. Emery had just started Kindergarten. Grey was about to start PreK. It felt like the exact right moment to slow down and get some photos before another whole year slipped by.

We made a full day of it -- brunch at a crepe spot in Traveler's Rest and then an afternoon wandering the grounds at Furman University. If you have never shot at Furman, it is one of those locations that does a lot of the work for you. Open lawns, beautiful architecture, mature trees, and that soft late-afternoon light that makes everyone look like they belong on a magazine cover. It is consistently one of my favorite spots for family sessions in the Greenville and Anderson area.

But honestly, the location is secondary when your subjects are this fun to be around.
