When Jenny reached out for something different for Franklin's 6-month sitting session, she knew she didn't want the usual living room setup. She wanted a real studio, soft backdrops, intentional light, and a space built just for this. So we booked the beautiful studio at The Gathered Collective and turned a Tuesday morning into pure baby chaos and pure joy.

Studio sessions are one of my favorite alternatives to an in-home lifestyle shoot, especially once summer rolls around. No fighting the heat, no chasing light through windows, no distractions from the dog barking at the mailman. Just a clean, calm space where all the attention goes exactly where it should, on Franklin and every one of his six-month-old expressions.

Franklin brought the energy. Between the giggles, the wobbly almost-sitting-up moments, and the very serious faces he reserved just for the camera, this kid was a natural. Jenny and Josh got some sweet solo time with him too, and honestly, some of my favorite frames from the whole session are the quiet ones where nobody was performing for the camera at all.

This is exactly why I love offering studio sessions alongside my usual in-home lifestyle work. Some families want their nursery and their real life in the background.
