Baby Libby's In-Home Newborn Session | Laurens, SC Newborn Photographer

Soft morning light, a sweet baby girl in blush and white, the best big brother who was so proud he could barely sit still. This one goes straight to my favorites.

Some sessions just feel like a warm hug, and Baby Libby's was one of them. I drove out to her family's home in Laurens, SC for an in-home lifestyle newborn session, and from the moment I walked in, the whole house had that soft, settled feeling of a family head over heels for their new girl.

Libby slept like a champ. Her big brother made sure I knew every single thing about her.

A big brother and his brand-new sister

What made Libby's morning so special was her big brother. At five years old, he had a lot of opinions about how to hold a baby, where she should sleep, and which of his things she was going to love most. He leaned in to kiss her head, helped Mom and Dad hold her with a hand under her back, and watched her with the kind of wide-eyed wonder you can't pose or fake.

Those big-sibling frames are the ones this family will treasure decades from now. He won't always be this small either, and the way he looked at her on day one is worth slowing down for.

That's the quiet magic of an in-home session. We're not rushing anyone out of the room or sticking to a tight props list. We let the people who love this baby just love on her, and I catch it as it happens.

Blush, white, and that beautiful light

Libby's home gave me so much to work with. Her nursery is bright and airy, a clean white crib against soft walls with the most delicate blush and sage touches. We did the classic parent-by-the-crib moments, those tender looks down at a sleeping baby, plus a few of just Libby tucked into a woven basket in her pretty floral swaddle.

I always shoot the little details too, because they vanish so fast. Her hands. The curl of her fingers. Those impossibly small feet. Six weeks from now they'll already look different, and her parents will be so glad we slowed down for them.

We finished on the couch with the whole family together, soft green pillows behind them, big brother right in the middle of it all. Real, easy, exactly how it felt to be there.

Why I love lifestyle newborn photography

When I tell families I'm a lifestyle photographer, here's what that means in practice. I come to your home, usually in baby's first two to three weeks, and we work around the baby instead of the other way around. Feed when she's hungry. Snuggle when she needs it. No fussing, no stiff posing, no driving a newborn across town.

The result is a gallery that actually looks like your family, in your space, during a season you'll want back the second it's over. Libby will not remember this morning, but she'll grow up seeing exactly how loved she was from day one.

What to expect from your Laurens, SC newborn session

If you're expecting and thinking about an in-home session, a few helpful things:

  • I come to you. I photograph newborn families in Laurens, Clinton, Greenville, Simpsonville, and across the Upstate SC area, so there's no packing up a brand-new baby and driving anywhere.

  • Bring everyone who loves them. Siblings, grandparents, and pets all belong in the story. Some of my favorite Libby frames are the ones with her big brother meeting her.

  • We schedule early. Newborns are sleepiest and snuggliest in the first couple of weeks, so reaching out before your due date lets me hold a window for you.

  • You don't have to prep much. Keep your home as-is, dress in something soft and neutral, and let me handle the rest. The relaxed feeling is the whole point.
