Baby Phillips' Fresh 48 | Patewood Hospital, Greenville, SC

I'll never get over walking into a hospital room on the first day of a baby's life. The world slows down. Everyone talks a little softer. And for a few days, nothing matters except the tiny person in the bassinet.

That's exactly what it felt like meeting baby Phillips at Patewood Hospital in Greenville.

Fresh 48 sessions move at the baby's pace, and this one was no different. We worked around feedings and nurse check-ins and took our time with the in-between moments: a hand resting on a tiny back, a swaddle tucked just right, the quiet minutes when everyone in the room just stared at the newest member of the family.

I love these galleries for the details that disappear the moment you go home. The hospital bracelet. The bassinet. The striped blanket. Those brand-new fingers and toes. Years from now, these are the photos that take you right back to the very beginning.

Is a Fresh 48 session worth it?

This is one of the most common questions I get from expecting parents, and it's a fair one. You're already planning a newborn session, so why add another?

Here's what a Fresh 48 captures that nothing else can:

  • The very beginning. Your baby will never be this new again. By the time an in-home newborn session happens at one to three weeks, they've already changed.

  • First meetings. Siblings and grandparents meeting the baby for the first time, as it actually happens.

  • The hospital details. The bracelet, the bassinet card, the striped blanket. Small things that tell the start of the story.

  • You, as you are. Tired, emotional, and completely in love. Parents tell me these are the photos they cry over most.

The session is short and relaxed, built around feedings and nurse visits, so it fits easily into your hospital stay. And if you want both, my Fresh 48 and in-home newborn bundle covers the hospital and your first weeks at home.

Booking your Fresh 48

Because babies don't follow a schedule, I keep flexible availability around my families' due dates. The best time to book is your second trimester. Learn more on my Fresh 48 page, or check availability here.

Welcome to the world, sweet baby Phillips.
