Can I tell you something about the morning I spent with the Walker family in Simpsonville?
I walked through the front door and immediately felt it — that quiet, sacred energy that only exists in a home where a brand new baby has just arrived. Everything a little softer. Everyone moving a little slower. The whole world still on pause.

The Session
Baby Walker was only a few days old when we met, and he was perfectly, beautifully sleepy. The nursery light was coming through the window exactly the way I hoped it would — that soft, golden morning glow that makes everything feel warm and still and like the whole world is holding its breath.
We started in the nursery with just baby — swaddled up tight, curled into himself the way only brand new babies can be. I photographed his fingers. His eyelashes. The way his tiny mouth puckered when he was sleeping. Those details that feel so permanent when you're in them and disappear so fast.
Then we moved into the bedroom for family time — all three of them tucked into bed together, baby nestled between them. Mom looking down at her son with that look. You know the one. The one that says I can't believe you're here and I've loved you forever all at once.
I'll never get tired of photographing that look.
