Eva's Maternity Session at Falls Park | Greenville, SC Maternity Photographer
Some sessions just have a glow to them, and this one had it from the first frame. Mama Eva, glowing in the final stretch of pregnancy, spent a golden summer morning at Falls Park in downtown Greenville with her husband and their sweet big sister-to-be, Bea. Between the garden paths, the stone walls, and Bea twirling through wildflowers in her white dress, this maternity session turned out to be everything a bump session should be: soft, joyful, and full of anticipation for the baby on the way.
Why Falls Park is a Greenville Favorite for Maternity Sessions
Falls Park on the Reedy is one of my favorite downtown Greenville locations for maternity sessions, and it is easy to see why. The garden paths offer that lush, green backdrop that makes a growing bump absolutely glow, the stone walls and tree canopy give us natural texture and shade, and there is something for every member of the family to explore, which matters a lot when you are bringing a toddler along for a session.
Eva and her family leaned into all of it. We wandered the paths together, let Bea lead the way through the flowers, and found soft, dappled light under the trees for the more intimate mom and dad portraits.
A Family of Three, About to Become Four
This session was as much about Bea as it was about Eva's bump, and that balance is exactly what makes maternity sessions with older siblings so special. Bea, dressed in a flowing white dress, spent the morning exploring the garden, picking flowers, and climbing onto the stone wall while her parents looked on. She was equal parts curious about the camera and completely unbothered by it, which gave us some of the most genuine candid moments of the day.
We captured Bea being lifted onto dad's shoulders, Bea nestled against mom's growing belly, and a few sweet quiet moments where she simply sat in the grass surrounded by wildflowers. These are the images that will mean the most in a few years, a documented moment of what life looked like just before their family grew by one.
The Bump, Front and Center
Of course, this session was also about celebrating Eva and her beautiful bump. In a soft white dress, she and her husband moved through a mix of close embraces, quiet walking shots along the garden path, and a few solo portraits that highlighted just how far along she was. The neutral, coordinated tones of the family's outfits, whites, tans, and soft neutrals, kept the focus exactly where it belonged: on the family and the light around them.
What to Expect From a Falls Park Maternity Session
If you are expecting and thinking about booking your own maternity session at Falls Park, here is what a session like Eva's typically includes:
A mix of full family portraits, mom and dad only, and solo bump portraits
Time built in for toddlers or older siblings to explore and be themselves
Guidance on coordinating outfits so the whole family feels cohesive without looking matchy
Golden hour or soft morning light timing to make the most of Falls Park's garden paths
A relaxed pace that leaves room for real, candid moments alongside posed portraits
Eva's gallery is a beautiful example of what a Falls Park maternity session can look like when a family leans into the location and lets the moments unfold naturally.
